Heidenhain&’s iron haematoxylin
- Heidenhain&’s iron haematoxylin
-
One of many haematoxylin-based staining solutions and one that is particularly good for photography or automatic image processing because of the intensity of black staining that can be achieved. Requires
differentiation in iron alum and thus the intensity of staining can be adjusted according to the specimen. Sections stained with Heidenhain are usually counterstained with, for example,
eosin or orange G.
